KNIFE CARE

Made to be used. Built to last.

A few straightforward habits will help keep your Stoic knives performing properly for years.

EVERYDAY CARE

Look after the edge.
Respect the materials.

Stoic knives are working tools. They do not require ceremony, but they do benefit from sensible cleaning, drying and storage.

01

Wash by hand

Clean the blade soon after use with warm water, mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads. Do not put the knife in a dishwasher.

02

Dry immediately

Dry the blade, handle and fixings thoroughly before putting the knife away. Do not leave it soaking or wet on a draining board.

03

Protect the edge

Avoid twisting the blade, prising with it or forcing it against bone and other hard materials. Using the knife as intended will help protect its edge.

04

Care for wood

The natural handle may gradually lighten with use. When the wood begins to look dry, apply a small amount of food-safe oil, allow it to absorb, then wipe away any excess.

05

Store safely

Keep knives in their box, a suitable knife block or another protected position where the edge cannot knock against other utensils. Store them safely out of the reach of children.

06

Sharpen when needed

A few controlled strokes on a suitable fine sharpening stone will restore the edge. If unsure, use a reputable professional sharpening service.

IMPORTANT

Dishwashers damage knives.

Heat, aggressive detergent and movement against other items can damage the edge, natural wood handle and fixings. Always wash and dry your knives by hand.
